Members of the University Student Design Bureau are the winners of the Cup of Russia on Model Aviation Sport

The team of the Student Design Bureau of Leonov University of Technology took part in aeromodelling competitions in class S (rocket models).

From April 18 to April 23, the university students Victoria Kurkina, Yana Santalova, Evgeny Tkachenko, Timofey Burilichev, Danil Korepanov, Kirill Gordikov and their mentors Igor Ibragimov and Anastasia Efimova fought for the title of the best Russian model aircraft constructors. The competition among the participants was high, because more than 50 aeromodellers from 10 regions of Russia arrived in the city of Nartkala of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. The weather conditions did not make the task any easier, but neither fog nor rain became an obstacle for the model aircraft constructors of the University of Technology on the way to victory. The professionalism and endurance of the Student Design Bureau team helped to cope with all the tests and achieve high results.

According to the results of the competition, the team won the following prizes:

• 1st place in the class of models S6 – Kirill Gordikov;
• 1st place in the class of models S9 – Yana Santalova;
• 3rd place in the class of models S6 – Igor Ibragimov;
• 4th place in the class of models S6 – Timofey Burilichev.
