Research work is one of the most important activities of the Department. The directions of the Department scientific work are diverse. Having a significant scientific potential, the members of the Department publish scientific articles and papers in Russian and foreign publications. The University students under the supervision of the Department lecturers draw up presentations and reports at the student intra-University, inter-university and regional conferences. The research materials are also used by students to prepare course papers and final qualifying papers. The best student papers are submitted for participation in the competitions.
The Department annually hosts the regional Olympiads for students on the basics of financial literacy and accounting. The Department has a volunteer movement within the framework of the all-Russian annual campaign "Financial Literacy Days". In the context of this campaign the graduate students and lecturers of the University visit schools, colleges and technical schools and explain the complex economic and financial concepts, conduct lectures, seminars and training.
