PARTICIPATION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY IN MAKS 2021. CHRONICLE OF EVENTS.

20.07.2021 July 20. The exposition of the Leonov University of Technology began its work at the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2021.

The stand of the university is located in the section "FUTURE HUB / University science and aviation-technical creativity of youth". This year at the stand the University of Technology presents the latest developments of its Engineering Center "High-Temperature Composite Materials", opened at the university together with JSC "Compozit". The guests of the air show can get acquainted with the technologies for manufacturing products from composite materials and their characteristics, see the products manufactured by the Engineering Center for the rocket and space industry: samples of woven preforms and fasteners made of composites.

Also at MAKS-2021, the university presents a new joint project "Air Launch" developed in cooperation with the Moscow Aviation Institute, the Bauman Moscow State Technical University and JSC "Compozit". This is an aerospace system based on the MIG-21 supersonic aircraft carrier for launching micro- and nanosatellites with a light-class rocket weighing up to 1000 kg. According to the project, the rocket is installed in the place of the aircraft additional ventral fuel tank and its launch is controlled by using the standard interface.

In addition, at the stand of the University of Technology a VR technology zone has been deployed for all airshow visitors. The master classes on rocket modeling are planned.

July 21. Within the framework of the MAKS-2021 business program, the Leonov University of Technology exchanges the best practices with the participants of the air show - the representatives of industrial enterprises, government agencies and foreign colleagues.

During the airshow, the university management and researchers held a number of business meetings - with the Deputy Chairman of the Moscow Region Government Vadim Khromov, the heads and employees of partner enterprises of the university - JSC “Tactical Missiles Corporation” and JSC “Compozit”, as well as of other organizations of space and aviation industry in Russia.

At MAKS-2021 the stand of the University of Technology was also visited by the representatives of foreign companies from the CIS countries and Iran, who showed great interest in the technologies for manufacturing products from composite materials in the Engineering Center of the university.

The participation of the university in the International Aviation and Space Salon allowed the university to both strengthen cooperation with long-term partners and establish new contacts with domestic and foreign colleagues in the scientific field.

July 22. Today, at the MAKS-2021 site, the employees and students of the Leonov University of Technology, the members of the university Student Design Bureau held a master class on rocket modeling for the guests of the air show.

The representatives of the university told the young participants of MAKS-2021 what rockets were made of and what functions they performed. They helped to assemble the simple models of rockets and launch them.

Based on the results of the master class, the winners were determined - the authors of the rockets, which flew to the farthest distance during the launches. As a prize, they were presented with exhibition models of rockets assembled by the university students.
